The cafe/restaurant is almost an old 50's throwback. Nothing fancy here folks with an old concrete floor that was painted some time in the past but now thoroughly used and worn. The concrete block walls carry a fresh coat of paint and are adorned with many local dirt track racing memorabilia and pictures. Other than that you get just good ole down home cooking from breakfast to dinner anytime of the day.
I have eaten here many times in the past and have always rated their Homestyle Cheeseburger in my head figuring one day I might actually write about it. Well, today was the first time I have eaten there after starting this blog, so lets see what we come up with.
Lets break it down:
- Bun: Toasted and warm to almost perfection.
- Meat: Good circumference, close to the 5" mark, almost a full 3/4" thick full of jucies and flavor.
- Tomatoes: Only one slice of tomato, but dang that bad boy covered the whole burger and still hit the 1/4" thick mark.
- Lettuce: Chopped lettuce that was still crispy and a good portion of it.
- Pickles: Only 4 dill pickle slices, but still good and crisp.
- Onions: Lots of chopped onions, almost to the point of to many, but still good onions and not too overbearing.
- Cheese: Full slice with good coverage and melted.
